Trauma informed transitions and endings.
Who is this course for?
Anyone working in the homelessness or education
sector who would like to explore different approaches to
navigating transitions and endings with those they work with.
What will we cover?
The end of a working relationship with a student or client is an important part of our time with them. For all of us and especially those who have experienced trauma, endings and transitions can be difficult. They also give us an opportunity to reflect on and celebrate the work we have done, as well as planning for the future.
The course will support attendees to:
-
Reflect on their experiences of endings or transitions in their work and what is positive or challenging in these situations.
-
Compare, through case studies and professional experiences, how different types of endings may repeat traumatic patterns for clients/learners and professionals or offer the opportunity to experience a 'good' ending.
-
Identify strategies and approaches to navigate endings/transitions in a collaborative, thoughtful way, supporting longer term resilience and wellbeing.
